Musicians rarely are at loss for words when asked about the long road to their dream of becoming a professional musician. My story, like most, is filled with great times and low times, but with always one constant, that it will never leave. Music has been a part of me since the day I was born, and like a scorned lover at times, I tried to break up with it but was never successful. I am thankful music has not left me, but has become a life long journey and not just a destination.
Music has led me to this exciting time, launching as a solo artist. The transition is not a tough one, as over the past 10 years I have been one of the head writers, both musically and vocally, for every band I was a member. Moving to be a solo artist, I feel as if there are no restrictions, no “name” to classify your music, no one saying “ I want to add a 20 minute solo for no reason”, and more importantly, no one but yourself to hold you back. I feel reborn.
So to all my fans and those just discovering my music I would say, let’s start a journey together. You are more important that than any one individual in the organization, because music without an audience is just noises lost somewhere in the stratosphere of life. More importantly you, the fan, are the inspiration to keep working through the good and bad. The feeling of a packed house, energized and transfixed on the stage, is the most amazing feeling one can feel, and thank you to the so many that have been a part of this over the last several years.
